When on or off assignments you can usually find 007 sipping champagne more times than his famous vodka martini. Where Connery and Lazenby's Bond preferred Dom Perignon, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig all drink Bollinger. (Moore enjoyed both.)
Ian Fleming even featured Bollinger in his stories and at present the 007 producers have an agreement with Champagne Bollinger to be featured in the films.
The Bond films that have featured Bollinger are Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill, Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
Madame Lilly Bollinger's quote:
"I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it—unless I’m thirsty."(1899-1977)
No doubt we will see the Champagne featured in Bond 23.
Curiously, I don't recall Taitinger Blanc de Blanc, which occurs often in the novels, appearing even once in the films.
ReplyDeleteVery true. I think it's just who Cubby had an agreement with. Dom Perignon must of made him mad at one point and he said to hell with them! Hence, "The Brand of the list was questionable" comment.
